Monterrey
Monterrey is the capital and largest city of the northeastern Mexican state of Nuevo León. The city anchors the Monterrey metropolitan area, the second-largest metropolitan area in Mexico, after Greater Mexico City with a population of 5,341,171 people as of 2020 and it is also the second-most productive metropolitan area in Mexico with a GDP of US$140 billion in 2015. According to the 2020 census, Monterrey itself has a population of 1,142,194. Located at the foothills of the Sierra Madre Oriental, Monterrey is a major business and industrial hub in Mexico and Latin America.

More about the city
Monterrey is the heart of one the country’s largest urban agglomerations. With a mixture of services and manufacturing, it is also the key to Nuevo León’s status as the third largest state economy in Mexico, after the Federal District and the state of México. Heavy industries such as ironworks and steelworks produce steel sheet-rolls and an array of other metal products. Monterrey’s wide range of light manufactures include textiles, beer, processed foods, chemicals, and glass and plastic products. On the piedmont to the north and east of the city, irrigated crops are grown, including cotton, citrus fruits, sugarcane, cereals (especially corn [maize] and wheat), and vegetables. Monterrey is the chief Mexican beneficiary of the large Falcon (Falcón) Dam and Reservoir project, on the lower Rio Grande (Río Bravo del Norte); local rivers also provide hydroelectric power.

METROREY
The Metrorrey Collective Transport System, or Metrorrey, is one of the city’s main public transport systems. It runs from east to west through Guadalupe and from north to south through Escobedo.
Metrorrey has 32 stations spread over two lines with a total length of 33 kilometres. A third line is under construction. The system uses 84 rail cars, with each train consisting of three or four cars. Trains have a capacity of about 300 passengers, and last year Metrorrey carried about 180,446,000 passengers, an average of about 500,000 per day. Metrorrey operations are managed by the Sistema de Transporte Colectivo Metrorrey, a government agency.
Monterrey Fan Fest
The FIFA Fan Festival Monterrey will be held in Parque Fundidora, an iconic space that will be a meeting point for more than two million fans during the 39 days of the World Cup.
The proposal includes live broadcasts of the matches, concerts, local and international gastronomic offer and official brand activations, in collaboration with Apodaca Group, an expert company in the production of major events.
